Help: Sound system problem
Help: Sound system problem
I have the standard Bose head unit with cassette and remote CD changer. My stereo turns on. I can activate the radio, tape and CD, and the display works. The CD changer works on command. But, I get no music from the speakers. All I get is a repetitive popping sound of about 2 beats per second coming from the Right front speaker and a rear speaker or speakers when the unit is powered up. The volume control has no effect on the volume of this sound. Any ideas? Thanks.
Most likely a bad amplifier. It is located under the hood and if you have the subwoofer, that amp is located next to the spare tire. Try pulling power to reset. If it does nothing, call the dealer to find out if they can swap it
out for you. It could also be a bad/shorted speaker which is causing the amplifer to go into a "protection" mode.
best of luck
