996 TT Key

Car only came with one key. Any savings tips on cutting and programming a key for the 2002 TT? I have an appointment at the dealer, $135.00, and I have the hardware. I am located in So. California.

The prices for reprogramming is dealer dependent. Two dealership in our area gave me quotes of $125 and $60 for doing exactly the same thing. Basically, it is a few minutes of work.

not really much of a way around this since PST2 is needed to program it. u can ask for other work to be done since this job doesn't take the charged time. if you need any reprogramming of DME setting such as autolock, alarm self arming etc, this is the time. also, any computer code scanning etc.

130 isn't too bad. i pad 150 for parts and labor in reprogramming a key.

I just paid $368 for a new remote control key at westside porsche in Houston. I even have to wait for the metal part of key and only have the plastic remote at this time. Porsche is way too proud of their keys.

You should be happy with that... since we have the key code for our 550, our new fobs will only be $800.00 instead of THOUSANDS (if we didn't have the code).
