Hybrids vs. K24's???

I am assuming this question has already been asked, but I will ask it again anyway. I have been talking to Mike at AWE about taking my stock K16's out and doing K24's, new innercoolers, a new air panel, and upgrading my GIAC programming. The price seemed very reasonable, but my question is.....can I get the same performance out of smaller turbos, or for not much more money can I get a package that is significantly superior?

Go for hybrids..more torque sooner in the curve. My Speed Gallery ones are killer!

k16/24s are good. stock k24s are not bad( BTW I ran my fastest 1/4 on k24s and I also had other hybrids.
Either way you will get the same HP just delivery will be different.
Evoms, IA, speed gallery,UMW, and of course Protomotive all have very attractive 600 HP packages.... I personally had 3 turbos on my car...

Wow, I only have two........where does that 3rd one go

If you want the old old style "hit you in the face" spoolup with lag, go for the K24s. If you'd rather have a big V8 type more even power delivery sooner, go with the hybrids.

I would prefer the least amount of lag possible. So, then I should go for something other than K24's I guess.

Absolute no lag turbo is the UMW zero clearance turbo... stage 2 set up should be fine for you.

No. As you'll read in previous discussions, you can get around 500whp with a k16 based turbo. You'll be able to get earlier spool-up, but the size of the turbo will limit you. You should look at a 24 based hybrid (Ultimate Motorworks, Protomotive ) to get those type of numbers.

Do a search on KPG's setup. He had what is sounds like you are looking for. He did extensive writeups on this setup.

Thanks. The site has minimal info because its under construction, but I can see what the packages consist of. Stage 2 looks loke what I would be interested in. Anyone have an idea of cost? As well as location.
