Anyone have any experience with this guy in Taiwan who is listing lighweight leather seats for GTs for $1200? They look decent, but a deal on cheap seats aren't a deal if they are poor quality or construction. Link is

I always saw these up for sale, some people said stay away because in an accident or if something critical happened the seat isnt proven to hold up, i know of someone who's seat actually came apart (side bolster) on a hard turn?!

But i dont know for sure...

 

DO NOT get those cheap POS you dont know how safe they are no matter what they say GET THE PORSCHE GT3 seats and spend an extra grand for piece of mind.

I ordered the wing from this guy and all was fine. But like others said, a wing has nothing to do with safety like a seat. I would stay away.

 

Don't cut corners on a car of this caliber. It'll only cost you more in the future to fix it right. Save up your dough for the right mods & enjoy it with total peace of mind.

 

Suncoast Porsche is having a special on real GT3 seats for 2590$. That is about as cheap as can be expected for new seats, and they come with the sliders. Kevin

My skyline came with aftermarket seats that would have folded me in half in an accident...in fact they actually fell apart at the hinge. I was quick to replace them with OEM seats from another type of car before anything happend. The seats I removed arent safe enough to be my office chair.

Another one? Jeez, you're trying to skimp absolutely everywhere. Wheels, seats, body kit, engine. What's next - a super light airbag kit from Malaysia? Comeon, seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Why on Earth would you get a 996 TT and go about ricing it up with cheesy sheit? If you haven't heard of the product, sounds too good to be true, and it's on Ebay, it's a pretty good indication of it's [lack of] quality.

Buy an Accord with a big coffee can exhaust tip and Fast n' Furious wing and go nuts, it sounds like you'll have more fun.

 

Jeez, lighten up. Ive remember another member here who bought the ebay ones with the CF backs and said they were as good as the OEM seats. These could very well be just as good as the OEM seats for half the price.

Jimmer, your conclusions are correct but ya need to "chill out", he just asked if anyone had any experience with the seats! Glad the rep thing is gone I think you would be in the red dots after the whole accord thing!!
