GPS CD Questions

Just bought a 996 Turbo (2001) and after the fact I found out that I am missing the CD for the Navigation in my area.

Just curious as to wether later year maps are available for the car and if so how much they run?

Thanks!

Nevermind. I call NavTeq and they told me the sad news... No upgrades for 2001 Nav.

Check ebay..sometimes they are on there for pretty cheap. Make sure you get the correct CD based one though for 01 navs.

Also, if you cannot find one on ebay, just post that you are looking for a disk for your area, and see if someone will burn you a copy of theirs since it is only a cd. Offer them a couple of bucks for their time and the disk.

Actually, I have a call in to the dealer for these since NavTeq was essentially useless - hoping they can help. If not, anyone have 2001 TT Mid-Atlantic Disc? I have the Mid-Ohio Valley and California if anyone wants to trade..?

slant911 is infamous around these parts
Justin, et al,

I just went through the same BS with Navtech. They first told me they did not make the disk I needed anymore. As I asked for higher managers they suddenly "found" the disk. Cost was about $160 and the maps are 3-4 years old, but at least I got a disk for my area.

I think that is the one I have. I'll check today and let you know. I just realized you have an 02... Mine won't work.

On another note, anyone else think it's weird that the only way to update your maps is to buy a newer car?
