New clutch, 30k service, reverse lights fixed. Hopefully I just need a clutch - if I need a flywheel, too, I may go with the 997 GT3 RS kit. That seems to be the favorite, yes?

See my RL thread. Had the car for 2 days and it started slipping. Ugh.

Oh, and my low beams seem to only illuminate about 25 ft in front of me... going to adjust that myself when I get it back.

blackbenzz, I'll be in touch. Any time you guys are doing anything at Funktion, I'm probably interested. It's pretty close and I enjoy talking to Walid immensely.
Your car will be in good hands with those guys and will be in good company as well if it's still there on Monday the 12th ...that's when mine goes in for the JIC c/o and B&M install.

Yep, very glad to see I chose the right shop. Isn't Dulles a bit of a drive, if you're in Frederick? Do you work in this area? Also: I think they have a DIY day on Sunday if you want to give it a shot

Hopefully I'll get the car back Fri/Mon, but I didn't actually ask how long it would take.. Crossing my fingers we don't need to order any parts. I was just starting to enjoy this thing!

From Frederick to Dulles is only about 40 minutes (15 S to Leesburg to Dulles Greenway...pretty easy drive).

What time is the DIY on Sunday? I have a free pass from the wife for a good part of the day.

They are normally pretty dead on with getting the car done and back to you when they say they will. Hope all goes well with it and you get it back for the weekend. Given tomorrow's weather report, you won't miss it Wedesday with this 'effing snow coming again.

FAILED MD inspection...it will be all stuff that can be fixed rather easily...dinged me for the tint...working on that...found the left front sway bar linked snapped! Ruiner is working on getting me a replacement and getting it drop shipped to me...incredible! Last but not least which is also really weird, the inspector said that my front toe was out by 1/4!!!! WTF???? WHO CARES??? Some people actually do that on purpose...anyway I have some info from Maxwell also to help me out...so needless to say without input from all you guys I would be stressing much harder...the best for last...I must have been really needing sleep because I tested out the rear tire on the right side tonight and it fits like a glove!

I will be ordering the 'turbo" in chrome shadow tomorrow to replace the chrome one and 4 OEM bolts so I can put the new wheels on ASAP after the inspection is complete.

Thanks again all!

M

I just had mine in for inspection this past Monday. I took it to a local Meineke shop (MD state approved inpector) that installed a new muffler on my Jeep last year. Developed a good rapport with the Franchisee owner and his manager during that time. Thankfully, mine passed first try with no issues whatsoever. I'm just glad this was done prior to installing the JIC's. For Christsake man, I swear us Marylanders live in a Communist Regime here. The state and most local/county governments have their noses so far up our respective asses that we can't see straight..... "Your right toe is out by 1/4" .....give me a f'ing break!!!

Hang in there Demon. It will all work out very easily. Just a pain in the *** to deal with, I know.

cool. are you getting another stock clutch, or upgrading? I'll be interested to hear your opinions on Funktion when you're done. It looks like a nice shop, but I don't know anyone that's had any work done there yet.

Eep! I lied. The DIY was the 3rd, this last Sunday. My mistake.

Maxwell: if I don't need a flywheel, a stock clutch is going in. If I do need a flywheel, I'll probably go to the 997 GT3 RS kit that I think Kevin at UMW was recommending (need to confirm that if I end up going that route). Do you know if the driveability will suffer? A coworker of mine says he has a LWFW in his car and that he has to apply throttle at stoplights and while upshifting, or else he'll stall. I don't want that. I want the driveability to remain perfectly intact.

My dad has known Walid for quite some time, and assures me he will take good care of me. Having spoken with Walid for quite some time last week, I had no reason to doubt him. I just can't wait to get my car back

See my previous post regarding my former car (CaymanS). Granted it wasn't anything engine/mechanical. They installed H&R springs, rims and tires and completed the new alignment. Everything was done perfectly, on time and as estimated.

Justin, George (MX Racer) has the LWFW/clutch package from Kevin, and contrary to all the stuff you'll read about hard to drive, rattling noise, it feels almost exactly like stock, with a little shorter engagement, and doesnt really make any discernable noise.

Yeah I am happy with the set up.. It makes a little noise, but not bad and only when stopped.. It engages quicker and allows the engine to rev quicker..
I'd be glad to let you check it out if your interested..

George
