As for your neighbors, they need a good "wake up" call.

I am SERIOUS!!! The whole of the downstairs was reverbing and shaking this morning...I want to call my GF later and find out if she could feel it on the 3rd floor!
So, does it take awhile for the coils to settle once the car is raised up?
Thanks Brandon!
Mike, congrats bro! Car looks awesome! Good thing you waited for the right car. What exhaust does it have on it?
With a 12" wheel, I would expect the rear lip to be huge....what size is yours? Thats the only reason I would think the offsets are a little off.
Here's a couple pics of mine, (not sure the width/offset, I had Ron - Vipertestarossa order them for me) and my car is lowered 30mm lower than stock, about 2 fingers width space.
If it's nice out this Saturday, we should grab some coffee so we can check out your car!

Mike, your ride height should be fine. If you decide to do any adjustments, TPC in MD seem to be the porsche suspension experts in this area. Several 6speeders have gone their and had great results.
Ruiner, no I don't want to change anything! I think it is perfect to be honest...really you did it right.
Maxwell - they are 12 in the back...what is yours? Yours sit straight up and down mine looked like they stuck out...we'll see I have to get the tire thing fixed first, get 4 more OEM bolts and then work out the rest.
The reason I asked about settling is that when you raise the car up to change the tires it take a few minutes after letting the car down for the car to settle back to its ride heaight it was set to. I was thinking since the coils are different than just plain springs that it would take more time for it to settle since there is at least a 3-4 finger gap now where with the OEM wheels only/maybe two...it is my foggy mind working...I am still very tired from lack of sleep!

Maxwell, let's shoot for Saturday if it is good...what time? Let's do the hardbean in Annapolis?

hmm...the stock rims/tires should be almost exactly the same height as the 19's....so the car should have sat right back where it was before. Definitely not an inch difference. Wait until you get the air/lugs, and then take it around the block. Im sure it will be at the same height.
I pop my wheels off all the time, to clean the calipers etc., and when I let the jack down, it goes right back to it's original stance.
Not sure if the weather is going to hold this weekend, but if it does, I'll be up for a drive.

Keep in mind that you have two options:
A. I had 19x11" wheels on mine, but yours are 19x12". I am sure that an 11" wheel would "tuck" better or get your offset checked out to make sure that it is perfect for the 996TT.
B. You can increase the negative camber (they are at -1.4 to -1.5 right now I do believe - factory spec). If you do that, you will get more inner tire wear.

I have no first hand knowledge as of yet. This is what has been reported to me via a tuner shop.

there are a ton of threads/discussions about GT2 ride height on the TT. GT2 height is VERY low. It does look good, but it is too low IMO for daily driving. Also, if you run PSS9's (Mike, not a problem for you) you can't go as low as the GT2 anyway. There is an issue with the car riding on the bump stops, essentially taking away the effectiveness of your suspension.
Im not sure how wide my wheels are technically. I had ron (Vipertestarossa) order them for me, as he is a dealer and had the exact same wheels on his tt, so I wanted the same specs. I've never really understood the desire for a wider wheel, if the tire is the same size? 315 on a 11" wheel vs. 315 on a 12" wheel? But knowing that the GT2 runs a 12" wheel, you shouldn't have any problems, except maybe having to roll the rear fenders, as the front ones come rolled from the factory.

Ahhh got it...I am a bit "dumb" today from lack of sleep...B I am going to email you in a few minutes...

I am getting a new wheel in Iforged precision series. Its called the Astra. Here are a couple of pics of them on a Viper and a Supra. Actually if you click on the Viper pics you can browse actual photos of my '03 tt as it sits now. The wheels should be in around the third week of March hopefully. My JIC coilover system is going on next week.
I'm all up for a Spring Maryland Porsche meet/photoshoot. I'll assist in any way I can.
