Exhaust or hybrid turbos to decrease lag?

If you could do only one -- either exhaust OR hybrid turbos -- for about the same money, which would do a better job of decreasing lag?

Exhaust is your best bet. This will provide a great foundation for future upgrades as well. I also suggest a reflash. The combination of the two will really perk up the boost response!!!

well, you'll need an exhaust for the new turbos/programming, so it's not really a one or the other. If you're going to flash, or get new turbos/programming, the stock exhaust is not going to be up to par for your new setup, so you might as well do it all at once.

Hybrid turbos will increase lag very slightly over the stock K16's. An exhaust will decrease lag.

I agree - the less backpressure the better - straight pipes stops most of the lag

I dont think you should do the turbos with out the exhaust. IMO

I can tell you my hybrids did not increase lag..quite the opposite. I did already have aftermarket exhaust. Both make a great combination.

Are all aftermarket exhausts equivalent in terms of reducing backpressure and decreasing lag ? Anyone has experience in mounting Europipes on an X50/K24 car prior to reflashing ?
