Chrome Vs. High Polished Lip....???
Whats the consensus here, of which looks better ? Are there any pro's/con's I should know about ?? I'm thinking black on black rims btw....

Go with a polished lip. As noted, chrome chips and pits whereas a polished lip can be fixed at home with sandpaper and aluminum polish. Trust me on that. If I had chrome lips, it would have cost ~$250 to refinish. Polished wheels are a little harder to mantain but, the trade off is well worth it imho.

Isn't there like a clearbra type of thing that you can now get on your lip to protect it from chipping ?? Its like extra cost from the dealer for each wheel or something. Would this protective film drasticly decrease the chipping susceptability of the chrome lips ?
From the pics I've seen, they seem to be by far the best looking, but then I can't understand why most people don't opt for them. Is chipping the biggest issue ?
