GT Purely Porsche -> Supercharged 996

Good article in the new GT Purely Porsche on VF Engineering's (?) [Evolution Motorsporst] Supercharged 996 N.A.

Power increased from 300hp to 420hp @5800rpm
Torque increased from 260ft.lbs to 340ft.lbs @5000-6800rpm

Looks like it could give a stock turbo a good challenge!

Trust me, it will give a stock TT more than it wants. I just finished one up and it picked up over 120HP to the wheels. What a blast!

those hp and torque dont jive. 420hp @ 5800rpm means it is putting out 380 lbs of torque. 340 ft-lbs @6800rpm =440hp.

What are you talking about? Please explain your math on this one. I hope you know that on that type of blower you will pick up more HP than TQ.

hp=trq x rpm/5252. use that formula and the numbers don't make sense. unless i am missing something.

Those #'s are also for a 3.4, I spoke to Todd a couple of weeks ago and he said that for a 3.6 you're looking at 470 hp and I believe 360 TQ. Still debating the warranty issue on mine since my dealership could be a stickler (same ownership were on my Benz). Not to get off subject though, I'm sure a 3.6 could definately give a TT a run for it's money. Hani, I'm waiting for you to get yours to use as one of my deciding factors.

I heard it was 400 HP for pre '02 models, and 420 HP for '02 and later models

Not so much just you, but pretty much all the other guys that have them as well. If I'm not mistaken, alot of the other ones on the board are on 3.4's? That and I've had some nightmarish warranty issues in the past with other cars that I've modded so I wanna make sure all is clear with this car before I do some serious mods to her.

The numbers are correct. Here is a dyno we ran a couple of months ago after an install.
