just bought an 03 TT - quick questions
I just bought a black 03 TT and so far I'm really loving it. I can see why people fall in love with these cars. Just had a really quick question. Is there any way to store the lumbar setting in the seats? I am able to adjust it using the electronic ***, however, it resets every time I get in/out of the car. The rest of the seat settings stay stored. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
also, the dealer said that the car just had its 30k service done by the previous owner. Is there any way for me to confirm this?

thank you for the warm welcome. Took me some time get my account approved on these forums =)
Unfortunately they don't know where the service was done. I was planning on taking the car in at my local porsche dealer for a full inspection to get any kinks worked out (since its still under warranty). Would the mechanic be able to tell if the 30k was done by looking for certain things?

Kayman, congratulations! I don't have my owners manual on me but, I believe the key is set to a different program. It adjusts for that key when you use the remote. So different keys can have different settings. It also depends on the seats. I have a 02 996tt and I don't know if it's different for the 03 996tt. Check your manual, hope it helps.
Congrats on the new car! Sounds like memory seating to me. I had the same problem when I first purchased my car...everytime I locked it and unlocked it, the seats would motor back to some preset position (for someone significantly shorter than me, I might add
). I actually repeatedly left the car unlocked for the first week I had it because I didn't want to keep reseting the seat positions.
The solution is to position the seats how you want them, and then record that position to the "key" setting. I don't recall the precise set of steps, but the manual bailed me out of this one...

well its odd because i was able to store the seat settings into the "key" memory. The seat position stays stored and readjusts properly if I change it. However, its the lumbar setting that doesnt seem to stay stored.

I believe the trick was to hold the "M" button down while, within the next five seconds, pressing the key with it in the ignition. You want to be in reverse if you want the mirrors to level down.
Lumbar should be part of this adjustment... it is on mine.
