Q re Vivid/Upsolute ECU Reflash

My car is currently stock and I am interested in some moderate street performance mods.

I was browsing the Group buy section and came across the Vivid/Upsolute ECU reflash. I was wondering if any of you guys are using JUST the reflash without exhaust or intake mods? The power increase numbers look pretty impressive and it looks like an upgraded exhaust only adds 20hp, how much of that power do you "feel" on the street? I am not looking for crazy hp numbers by any means, just want a little more "zip" out of my ride .

Anyone in Vegas using this program that I may come and check out?

Thanks all in advance for your input.

I spoke with James at GMG Motorsports and their exhaust in addition with the GIAC chip made something like 97 whp. Guarantee you'll feel that on the street! And most aftermarket ECU flashes in combination with an exhaust will get you numbers close to that i believe.

I would switch out the exhaust even if I did not have a ecu flash... thats how restrictive the stock one is....

I had the Upsolute flash recently. Nice butt dyno feel. Went from boosting .6- .8 bar to .8-1.1 bar max on stock k16's. Nice bang for the buck and easily appreciable on the street.

Regards

I had that flash and was really happy. I added exhaust and picked up 5mph in the 1/4 trap speed. It makes for a great combo.

Kind of known as stage 1...DVs, Exhaust and flash...probably the single best performance for the $...of course this starts the mod disease and you will be lost forever (lose money that is)!

Thanks for all the input fellas! I am on the lookout for a well priced exhaust as well, not sure I'm wiilling to shell out $ for a new one yet.. will the reflash work with any exhaust or is it specificaly tuned to different brandsd? If I get the reflash now and exhaust in say 6 months will I have to reflash the ecu for the new exhaust?

You guys are the best!!!

The tune is irrespective of the exhaust. You do not have to tune it to a specific exhaust nor get it re-flashed if you change exhaust. The exhaust just reduces the back pressure, can be lighter and sounds so much better!
