fun day drag racing

went to the track for the first time ever with a couple friends. we went to California Speedway in Fontana.

wow, drag racing is not easy! but now i can't wait to go again, lol.

time slip below; left lane. yeah i suck so please don't laugh.

i miss-staged, reversed and then went, hence the reaction time, also my 60 foot is pitiful.

also i got a chance to weigh my car. It weighed in at 3360. This was with rear seats removed, rear wiper delete, removed spare tire and about 3 gallons of gas.

all in all it was a blast!

Drew good hanging with you! Your car is flat out incredible! Perfect choice Bro.

Just so everyone knows, the new Fontana sux! The track actually goes uphill and is approx .4 and 3-5 MPH slower than a sea level track like Sacramento. The old fontana track was def faster by at least .3 and 2-3 MPH as well.

So a 112 MPH trap speed is very good, my buddies Stage 3 S4 on race fuel which traps around 118MPH at a good track trapped 113 at the new Fontana.

We'll go again, maybe make a trip up to Sacramento one of these days.

Me too! I'm in almost anytime.

So we have uphill fontana and Greasy, dusty (slippery) at elevation LACR. Some choice!

Anyhoo, I've been dying to get out once. Let me know!

The old Fontana was much better, but now with the new track, I'd say there's about .2 and 2 MPH difference between LACR and Fontana now, where before it was a pretty decent amount of difference. FI cars have actually done better at LACR, lol.

Fontana is too crowded now, at least at LACR you can get a good amount of runs in. Ari's right, there's not much of a choice for us in socal. Irwindale is a great 1/8th mile track, I hit a 8.29 at 85MPH there last year. DrewTT with a good launch would be in the 7's and easliy trap at 90+ there.

Sacramento is def the place to go for solid 1/4 mile ET's and traps, but quite a hike for us.

There is always Famosa Raceway in Bakersfield: http://www.famosoraceway.com/

635 feet above sea level, but supposedly a decent track.
