just installed some new engine mods, but...

My car used to have only a Moded ECU (Gemballa) and an exhaust with headers (Gemballa) and K-16's, two days back i have replaced the K-16's with FVD's K-24/K-26 Racing turbos, GT2 sports intercoolers, FVD diverter valves, fuel pressure regulator and BMC sports air filter.

The problem is that i can't feel any difference with this new setup feels like the car pulls the same as when it used to have the Moded ECU and Exhaust system only. i'm getting 1.2 Bar of boost in the old setup as well as with this new setup.

The only thing that made me feel better a bit is that i'm keeping up with a friend that used to leave me behind when i used to have my old setup, but i was expecting more from the way the car would pull.

P.S. the car has only been driven for around 180 miles since the new setup been installed, could this be the reason i'm not feeling any difference yet? do i need to put more miles on the car so the new parts would loosen up before i feel any difference? By the way the ECU is programmed to handle up to 580 HP. i haven't yet installed the air intake plenum.

You need a program for the hybrids.

He is right, to maximize the best results you need new tuning! BUT from what i have experienced, a STRONG/maxed K16 car and feel about identical to a maxed K24 car, or damn near similar. The k24's do hit harder up top though and you feel the difference!

I would get the FVD flash to go along with your setup. You need the matching programming for sure. Although you might want to give your ECU more time to learn the turbos?

What are your impressions of the K24/26s? How is the lag compared to the K16s?

You bought new 24/26 turbos and are still running the k16 file? Programming is a major part of the deal!

guys this car use to have the full 580hp package including all the parts that i have recently fitted with the bigger turbos, but the previous owner sold the bigger turbos and intercoolers so i bought the car with the ECU and exhaust system only, and recently i decided to add the same parts that used to be installed with the car before the owner sold them, so i guess that i don't need to touch the ECU anymore since it was actully programmed for the 580HP level.

i can feel the lag more than before but the car pulls a little better and stronger to the redline than before.

actully the workshop which i installed the parts recommended to me that i use FVD,s ECU program along with the air intake plenum, but i disagreed about the ECU since it was allready programmed by gemballa to get the same HP level as in the stage 4 kit which FVD offers, i thought that i could save on hthe ECU programming since my ECU is allready programmed by Gemballa.

GrettW is infamous around these parts
Find a dyno near you, change your engine management, why fight it....Why would gemballa have the perfect programming for the FVD turbos your installed?

So let me get this straight, he had a 580 programme (suspect 560) taken the k24's or 24/26 off and put K16's back on the car and you have been running with these?

Call FVD and find out what the hell is going on.

Your car with your setup should be very strong, FVD had great products.

You should have alot of seat of the pants improvement over what you had.

I have never heard of somone switching turbos without the corresponding programs. Someone is a bonehead.

Agreed with programme Marty!

While we are on the subject, I have completely had it with FVD, ordered one of their plenums, told it would take a week or 2, this turned out to be 3, then had a telephone call to say it would be 6/7 weeks, cancelled my order, an absolute disgrace! Happy to take my money straight away for it though!
