GT2 bolt on wing installat6ion problem

I took off the stock top blade and put on the gt2 bolt-on wing on the two risers.
I fthen fastened the wing using the "wing" tool.

Now when I go to lower the wing from inside the car only one side goes down lol. There's no problem with the risers b/c when I take off the wing both of them go up and down normally. I only get this problem once I fasten the bolt-on wing

its frustrating....so close yet so far

Is the GT2 wing aftermarket? if it is could be that distance between the metal cam catches is not correct putiing stress on the actuators. Check them.

Yes its that Carbon FIber gt2 bolt on from Ebay lol

Actually I just looked at the inserts which I took off from the stock wing and put into the wholes of the GT2 wing. One side is centered the other is off-center.

Trouble installing

Can anyone tell me how to install my wing? I too purchased the CF Wing from Ebay and just found out tonight that when taking off the stock wing, there appears to be a metal piece in the stock wing that attaches to the metal bars that go up and down. The wing that I purchased appears to have the threads in there for this metal insert to fit in. I guess you can buy a 14mm alan wrench to take it out, but am not sure. I'm afraid of breaking the stock wing.

Has anyone else had this problem or even know what I'm talking about?

I was confused at first as well. Yea you have to take off those screws from the original wing and then screw those into the threads of the bolt-on wing. I actually bought a 1/2" 14MM hex socket bit online.
They're tough to get out. I used plenty of wd-40 hehe, but eventually they came out.
Then you have to screw those into the threads of the CF wing. The thing is be careful when doing this. One side screwed in fine, the other wasnt straight. When I fastened the wing on the two risers of the car, only one side would go up and down. The risers are very "sensitive" I guess to the position of the inserts; both should be screwed in straight. Just take your time when screwing in the inserts into your new wing so you dont mess up the threads in the wing. Hope that helps

Ralph,

The "wing tool" can be purchased on Ebay for about $10. Search under "996 spoiler tool". I also have one if you need to borrow...
