Safe Tip Experiment
Dave -- You're describing the standard "brake torque" or "brake boost" technique. It definitely puts more stress on the torque converter (and that is the technique the car magazines use to test the automatics). For the 996tt, the 0-60mph times were always a few tenths slower than for the 6-sp manual, but for the 997tt they are a few tenths faster.
i was wondering if tip and tip s is the same thing

If you just mash the accelerator on the tip S the lack of turbo boost will give you a shocking acceleration time. Do not expect much better than a 0-60mph time of around 5.8sec (per GPS Performance Box) on a bog standard tip TT... that is SSSLLLLOOOOWWWW.
Ask me how I know.
You need to put some stress on the old torque converter to get anything better or near the factory quoted figures.

what ??
0-60mph = 5.8 sorry but no way, that means that de 0-100km/h is around 6sec and that is
impossible !
Definitely a result of turbo lag. I am trying to convince a friend to lend me his TT tip for another test just to confirm if the test car was stuffed. My standard 993 Carrera 2 manual did the 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds (needed to dump the clutch to get that figure). Go figure. Pretty sad huh. Anyway, 0-60mph times are pretty redundant in the real world.
If your turbo is equipped with tiptronic, it is safe and/or recommend to press and hold the brake pedal, while using your other foot to slowly press the gas pedal down in order to spool the turbo up somewhat say, to 2-3k RPM range?
Just wondering if this is safe and okay to do, and if so, does this provide better acceleration times, to that of a manual gearbox launch? Thanks

i really think that this is bad for the tiptronic i had some problem with the torque converter and now i don't any other problems with the gearbox !
from second gear wot and thats it !
