911 Secrets Revealed

Do we know if this 996 buyers guide is any good? It sounds interesting, but the distribution for this book seems to blow (i.e., it's not sold on Amazon).

Anyone know of any other good reading material for me before I make the plunge into the world of the 996 TT? (other than this forum!)

Any help is appreciated.

most of this info are already known & not very helpful. it's waste of money IMO. the board here (or other boards) is much helpful.

Why would you need that book, when you have a wealth of information on this board, just a few key strokes away.

the book has stuff that is old. this board has stuff that hasn't even made the journals yet, sorry, I mean magazines. This is the cutting edge as it happens and sometimes before it happens.

So, that's a no?

OK - so as expected, the book is a bad idea.

Then let's cover the basics that I should cover before buying a used 996 TT -

* Run a Carfax
* Take the car to a dealer for a checkout (permission permitting)

What other major things should be done to keep from getting possibly burned?

Thanks............RC

Besides paying a dealer to go over the car, also take the car to an autobody shop and pay them to review the paint and body. You have to pay them and pay them well to insure they will work hard for you. It is money well spent.
Lastly, if you really want to sleep at night, put the car on an alignment rack and get a printout of the alignment settings. Once you have them, they or we can tell you if it is within spec. If it is out of spec it could be the tip of the iceberg.
