Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket stereo?

Most people think this is the best. They will come to your area to do the work. They make their own components, if you do a search you'll see their name.

Their units are removeable so you can move them car to car. They also look pretty much stock which is nice.

I have the Pioneer Avic D3 and I love it.

ONEFASTTT996 is absolutely right that AVIC units are great, ez to use, and very clean looking in these P-cars

I have Pioneer AVIC-Z1 ... can't go wrong.. I dunno how the D3 compares to the Z1..... does anyone know?

It's a lot cheaper with the same functionality except you have to keep the nav dvd in whil setting up routes (afterwards you can remove it) as it has no hard drive. Since I use my ipod and XM I have no need for CD's on road trips and as such the difference was not worth $1200.

If you get the D3 find someone who will sell it for ~850 because I got it for that much so it is possible. If you can't, let me know and I'll see if I can get it from my guys for you.

I am putting the new kenwood in my 04 next week. nice piece with nav built into the headunit, ipod and bluetooth. amped with diamond speakers all around. if you are near northbrook let me know and i will be more than happy to demo it for you

its the dnx7100...no need to ask for a discount, I own the shop...its probably the largest custom bodyshop/accessory store in the country, located right in your backyard.
