...

As stated before: there is NO way that Turbo has 550 HP! Now I gotta ask myself, what kind of numbers does the Manthey 700 HP kit put out???

Yes. I think a few Europeans have been trying to say similar things before. High output figures are nice to show your friends, but worth nothing unless you can prove the perfomance on the street or on the track.

I'm going to Nürburgring (Germany) next week in an RS6 Avant.
Manthey Racing is located quite close, but I'm not sure if I have the time to visit them when the track is open.
Bascially they have been very much into racing, racing and racing.
So anything they add or remove has to improve the performance.
I hear that they are moving more into the tuning sector, using their knowledge from racing.

Both 550 and 700? Giggle juice or switchable ECU?

Both? So are the numbers in the Auto Bild article achieved with the 550 or the 700 HP program?

The one with the 3.0s 0-100 kph time and a top speed of 370 kph? Hey, get me a swedish chick in that F50 and we´ll make the term "power screw" mean something else

I have a few pics of a swedish chick outside PV996TT's Porsche, taken this weekend. How's that for starters?

Is the Manthey car still AWD, or is it converted to RWD?

Sounds like a flying start to me . On the AWD issue, I´m not sure. The review of the car in Auto Bild does not state whether the car has been converted or not. I´d be led to believe that the car is AWD.

What exactly are the three numbers listed underneath the cars?

For instance, on the Manthey 996:
550PS - 700Nm - 1500kg

So the PS is Horsepower, right?
is the Nm for Torque?

I know kg is the weight of the car.

Interesting that the VW TT-R32, with just a 3.2 six, has just seven less PS than the Manthey 996TT, which is prolly a 3.6 or a 3.8 six, AND the VW has 30 more Nm than does the Manthey.
All that with just 10kg more of weight!

That's impressive, though I guess with the right tweeks, you could make any number look better, eh?

PS = HP
Nm = Newton Meter = torque

The TT-R32 is a twin turbo, quite special.

Perhaps not the same, but it gives you an idea:
