You might PM "Christian" and see if he is available. He lives in the Memphis area. Also, Andy Durr is a great service manager at Gossett Motor Cars, which is a factory dealer. There's also a 6speed member who works at Gossett. Great young guy, but I can't remember his name.

 

Just talked to Andy and it is $375 plus tax and they do the CPO checklist on it. He is unaware of the 2nd gear issue. Which concerns me as i want it looked at, just in case.

 

I haven't lived in Memphis in ten (10) years, but for what it's worth the top shops in Memphis were Pat Williams racing and Memphis Motor Works.

Pat Williams Racing is an awesome independent race shop, but they specialize in custom air-cooled cars. Not sure if they would do PPI on a 996tt or not, but you could definitely give them a call too. I'm surprised Andy was unaware of the 2nd-gear issues, but he's a great and honest guy.

 

I am in memphis and good friends with guys at eh porsche dealer there. I will gladly check it out and take some pictures for you. Pm me.

 

the young guy at gossett is Dustin. My family has bought all of our cars from him. He is a wealth of knowledge.

 

There is only one mechanic in Memphis that I trust with my Porsche cars and I have used them all. Call Pat Williams at 901-373-1337, tell him Christian Rogers sent ya. Pat is to the point and won't BS you.
