Interpreting Durametric readings (overrevs - HELP)
So I installed the software today and finally had a chance to go through and read my codes and get rid of the CEL from my dying MAF. Turns out that there were a LOT of codes stored up:
Fault Number:P1601
Description:Porsche fault code 660 - CAN timeout - instrument cluster
Fault Number:P1657
Description:Porsche fault code 274 - Accelerator pedal movement
Repair Infomation:exceeds limit value
Fault Number:P1109
Description:Porsche fault code 594 - Input variables charge
Repair Infomation:measurement
Fault Number:P0103
Description:Porsche fault code 115 - Hot film MAF sensor
Fault Number:P0175
Description:Porsche fault code 361 - Oxygen sensing adaptation
Repair Infomation:idle range bank 2
Fault Number:P0172
Description:Porsche fault code 360 - Oxygen sensing adaptation
Repair Infomation:idle range bank 1
Fault Number:P1250
Description:Boost pressure deviation
Repair Infomation:exceeds limit value
Most of it cleared, but there's still an error code for accelerator pedal and the a/c not being recognized properly. No biggie.
The REAL interesting/bad part is with the computer readout. Now I thought that Porsche had to disclose, or couldn't sell you a CPO warrantied car with Type 1 or 2 overrevs. Well I have both.
Number of ignitions range 1 5333 / 906h
Number of ignitions range 2 3 / 750h
Operating hours counter 919
What does this mean, and should I call my dealer immediately tomorrow to rip them a new one?
Also, how do you interpret the real-time data such as "engine roughness" in cylinders 1-6, or others? Is there a guide or FAQ to using the software that I'm not aware of?
Thanks in advance for any comments guys.

No thoughts fellas? Now I've read up on this and am not so freaked out by the Type 2's, but wouldn't they have had to disclose this when selling the car to me, or not? Someone said that Porsche will not warranty a car with ANY Type 2's.
Also, there seems to be some confusion in past posts as to what the hours means. Is that hours that it happened at, or hours ago?
TIA

haha that's NOTHING!
I bought a CPO car that had 800 type IIs (found out AFTER I bought it)
After my car was chipped, massaged (increased redline etc) the Type II limit was something ridiculous like 5000
The range II simply counts the number of ignitions in the range II zone and when they occured. So the range IIs occured 750 hours into the cars use.
The dealer will sell you ANYTHING. IMO CPO means very little. It doesnt cover most stuff that breaks on 996 - essentially only the motor/trans.
However, when presented a chance, they'll try and squirm out of that too. Truly sad whats happened withg Porsche Service.

i'm curious about the boost pressure deviation code. Did this occur because the ecu was flashed, therefore producing more boost?
If you had a flashloader and changed back to the stock program, would the dealership still see this code?
2003 996tt stage I
2004 x5

You can be sure the dealer will blame you for any over-revs.
My service manager suggested documenting any overrevs on a cpo'd car at the time of pruchase- then if bad things happen you stand a chance with PCNA or the dealer that did the CPO. He did not think it was unusual to have Type2 overrevs and to CPO the car, but they'd better be low and not recent.
They also look at when the overrev occurred in time in relation to any failure.

I spoke to a few service mgr's about this and I got differing opinions. All of them said that they would sell a CPO car with Type II's as long as they weren't excessive...

^^^^of course the DEALERSHIP will sell the carf with the over-revs...
however, when you get CELS, then its up to the customer to force the SERVICE MGRS/TECHS to see that the overrevs were there when the car was purchased.
That was my experience...sadly, many service bays and sales guys never talk (or at least they pretend not to)
