Anyone look at the CTS-V?

We had a normal CTS and i did not like it all that much. The steering and brakes were too light and the interior was too plasticky.

Has anyone here taken a look at the CTS-V? I'd love to hear impressions.

Car and Driver just did a story on it last month...sounded like they liked it, but they ran it against an M5 and M3, and it didn't "Win", but they seemed to like the car as a whole...some minor things they would like changed/fixed..overall impression was very good though.

I test drove one two weeks ago here in Menlo Park. The car drives great with lots of power, smooth cornering (magnetic controlled shocks). But, the big killer for me was the ultra ultra cheap looking dash and interior. It looked worse than most rental cars I have driven.

I am selling everyone I get in. I wish the interior was a little better done but for the money nothing out there will take it in a straight line except for a Vette. The thing is a rocket and the brakes are better than any other GM car that is for sure.

i think i'm probably going to get one. It looks to be the perfect car for me. I'm only doing research now though, not ready to buy until august.

p.s. that is a misquote in your signature. the quote is from Le Mans and the full text is "Lotta people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting."

The interior is ****. Btw there are plenty of cars that can match the V in performance including the C32, M3 and S4. I looked once and won't look again.

I can tell you my mom drives a C32 and I beat her in the CTS-V and the S4 I ran one last night and beat it. Don't know about the M3. I agree the interior has something to be desired but I don't think it is s***. That comment is better said about a rental car not about a $50K car.

Hey thanks for the mistake in the quote and when you are ready let me know if I can help get you a V.

I saw one the other day at the local Cadillac dealship and came away impressed. It is much better looking in person then in photos and the grill material is top notch. I think the car needs to be dropped, and have some better wheels put on it, but other then that it looked quite good. The interior is a whole other matter. Just like a normal CTS, which is not good. It will be fun to see some LS6 mods in it.

Went to cadillac to a look at it the other day. Honestly, it's much better than I would have thought it would be. It almost felt german inside. The interior still needs work, they aren't quite there, but it's a solid offering. Nice to see the Americans muscleing their way back up.

i just love the idea of a 6-speed sedan with 400hp of american iron (eventhough i think ls6 is aluminum)

Alright you got me. It might hang with a stock Cobra. Never tried it.

A stock cobra in the hands of a good driver is capible of a 1/4 mile of 12.4 @ 113, An average driver is 12.8 @ 109, and a bad driver is a 13.3 @ 108. These are real world numbers from real drivers, not magazines. I don't know what the CTS-V is capible of. I am pretty sure that it isn't a 12 second car...Most likely a mid 13 second car.
