So, that was a T67 Supra on pump file....very similar to my friends Supra (Nick Diep) which runs even on my car on pump file (will pull on race file).

I assume, then that the RUF 650 is a true 650 to the wheels since it should be faster than my car.

Just trying to get an idea of what the cars are really like, since I was always a believer that the RUF cars are overrated. It seems that maybe they are not.

It's a no-brainer that the RUF won! Common 3.8 L vs. 3.0L with similar hp? I loved the comment on the m5 board though........."The supra can't hang with the big dawg........RUF RUF." hahahaahah

RUF hp is always underrated, overpriced but underrated. That 650 is more like 700 flywheel hp.

I hate to say it but in real world the supra is still top dawg.

Look at the dif in the money spent porsche built 3.8, Supra STOCK just bolt ons nothing crazy pretty simple. 2-3days worth of work. The PCar god knows how long plus at the end of the day that supra on a race file should walk. P Car is in its kill mode

 

Yes, on a race file w/ the t67 the stock bottom end Supra is equal to a Protomotive or EVO (maybe a touch faster than the EVO) GT 700 TT/GT2 with a stock bottom end (also on race gas/file). The diff. is the Supra can be had for less tahn half the money.

 

The RUF cars are strong, but no stronger than any other Porsche making the same power. Acceleration is all about power, area under the curve, weight, gearing and drag. Not brand.

FWIW, I think the Supra in the vid was a bit overrated. I used to make 560 to the wheels in my Supra (without NOS), and it hit a lot harder than that car was. At low speeds, I could barely keep the rear end straight...even with drag radials on.

 

The Ruf 650 probably cost more than Scott or Mark's 800 plus hp cars. So while the hp is underated, the price is definately overrated.

When my car is done it will be much faster and cost much less, that is for sure.

 

~600whp would be a very far stretch on that Supra, unless it was very sick at the time of the run.

Guy can't drive it for crap, either.

You have to be kidding. These events are not staged. They are a bunch of like minded enthusiasts who are all willing to race their own cars. The results are fair and show what happens on that particular day.

Will you be using "race gas" with your engine thats "much faster and costs less"? The chap in sweden with this car doesnt use it, instead using a euro 99 which is equivalent to 94/95 in america.

Im sure if the ruf engine was tuned to us race gas it would be more than a match
