Unenclosed Auto Transporters?

Hi guys,

A buddy needs to get a car from NY to Georgia.

Anyone have any recommendations for an unenclosed transporter? First hand experience with said transporter preferred.

Thanks!

Unless the car is a beater, I would recommend an enclosed transport. Vipertestarossa does a single car enclosed transport and he will take extremely good care of you.

It's a project car. Pretty beat up.

No point in shipping it enclosed.

Thank you for the post though.

if you are not worried about damage at all use dasautoshippers, should be extremely cheap compared to most

Try Angels Transport out of California. They brought my M3 from Jersey to Montana without a scratch. They have open transport as well. Best service for the money. And yes, DAS is the cheapest, however they have HUBS where the dropoff/pickup has to be made. Worst rating on www.transportreviews.com

I used National, they are a broker that contracts out to trucking companies like most auto shippers you find.

DAS owns their own fleet. Although not best of service, it's cheap and should fit ur needs.

Heard way too many horror stories about DAS. Passing on them.

Grett, thanks for the input though.

Matyoka, I got a quote from Angels. Very competitive pricing. Forwarded it to my friend. Requested quotes from all the top rated companies on www.transportreviews.com. Thank you for posting.

djantlive, I've heard horror stories on National as well. Passing on them too. Thank you though.

Will keep you guys posted.

I used an open carrier firm to transport my 02 C4S and would never do it again. The vehicle was transported by 3 trailers who basically were part of a bid to do the job. The tires on the car were damaged by improper use of tie downs. Although the carrier eventually took care of the damage, it was a pain. If your car has thrashed wheels and exterier it will be probably ok. Regardless, take photos of your vehicle. The photos helped me considerably.
My turbo was transported by an enclosed two car race trailer and was immaculate. good luck...take photos...
