The Turbo is TRUELY amazing...and really is quite the Italian car basher
I was lucky enough to attend a local FCA track day where all sorts of Gallardos, Ferrari Challenge Cars (348-360), Murcies, Diablos, and even a 288 gto and a couple TT355 race cars as well...
The track was the Pocono Raceway and the formation we used looked like a HUGE horseshoe (over 5300 feet of heavy throttle with a huge banked turn around 3300ft with an infield section of turns after that
Before I got there...I was skeptical my car would hang with some of the challenge cars that were there and thought that TT355 would roast my nuts...boy was I wrong...
I was slotted into the "blue" group which was the second highest run group of this region. I was a bit nervous as this group was filled with all sorts of Challenge cars and very, very fast drivers. After 2 sessions were over, there was not one 355 or 360 that I didnt FLY by...except for one 355 challenge car...which I followed VERY closely EVERYWHERE on the track...and was suprised I couldnt overtake him anywhere...We both go into the pits and he comes over to me and asks "What the f*ck do you have done to your car"...I your turbo should have been left behind by my 355...For a minute I was thinking...uhh...355s arent that fast...this is where he procedes to tell me he was in a 507WHP TT335 and couldnt lose me...PERIOD...he was supremely suprised to find my car near stock...needless to say...I was SHOCKED...
For another small instance...i was behind a guy in a completely raced out 288gto...and he couldnt get away from me either...
I know Im a good driver...but so were they...and the turbo STILL hung on there dispite the obvious wieght and even power dissadvantages that it incurred...ROCK ON TT...ROCK ON!
Cliffs...Ferraris sound really good but you dont get a chance to hear them for long because of how quickely you pass them...
oh ya...the f430 spyder...well...he got a great view of my wide *** for a couple of seconds...I though they would be much quicker than they are...even the spyder...and as for Gallardos...well...they were some of the easiest to FLY by...

Good job, man. Sounds like you had a great day and rerally impressed some people.
My take? If you want to go fast and look pretty...get a Porsche. If you want to just look pretty, get a Ferrari or Lambo.

You have an affair with an Italian but marry a German. LOL

goes to show how great these P cars really are. i like that you were able to pull the 430 and gallardos alike considering the weight and prob hp disadvantages. porsches give you the looks and the performance! and like markski said...
You just need to find a crazy F driver (like me!). The stock Challenge cars (including the CS) will blow the Turbo away on a tight track (there's almost a 1000 lb weight difference!) Most F drivers are afraid to push their beautiful expensive cars that hard. It's all about 8/10s or 9/10s. On a big track with less turns, the turbo would be more competitive.
were you the 996tt that was in front of my buddies silver evo.....
he was on the 996tt's ***
and then the 996tt wiped out..

this track wasnt too intensive on the turns...and the straight(s) were huge...and they probably werent driving 10/10ths...but who said I was? I had to drive home in the car I drove on the track!
Im just saying, this portly (3200-3300lbs or so after reduction) turbo was able to stay damn near all these guys...through nearly everything short of a couple higher speed late apex turns...I wasnt even on slicks!!

dude...you have no idea how pissed I am...I had my camera mounted, and pressed record...but I checked it and its blank...I think on of the F guys switched tapes...
Hey Sechsgang,
Which number P-car were you? I was there in my somewhat antique Testarossa and remember two fast TTs in the blue group. Probably have still photos of you. Next year I bring the GT2. Of course there was also a Z06 munching on many of the F-cars. Still like the sound of 12 cylinders.
