Europipe Accolades

I was surfing around earlier and looked at the Testimonial page on Europipe's website. It was interesting to see the names of people on this board, some of whom I have met and spoken with!

That third testimonial is from the guy I sold my EP loud to. Perceptions are so funny, if he thinks his car doesn't have lag now, I need to get what he is smoking His car lags so bad its ridiculous, not saying it has anything to do with the EP, it is more a function of the stock X50, K24 turbos, and cautious Porsche programming. Obviously, with more agressive tuning, ala Todd or Stephen I think we all know how these K24's can perform.

Lou, which one of the 996tt Stages do you think could beat KA in any contest? I guess KA's advantage must be the Europipe exhaust as she is using dinky turbo's.

I don't believe you understood what I was trying to say, that is I did not articulate my point very well. What I was saying was that my friends stock x50 has a ton of lag. He stated that with the addition of simply the EP, he noticed almost no lag. I said he has a ton of lag and wanted to clarify it had nothing to do with the EP, but rather Porsche's conservative tuning for the inherently laggy K24 turbos. I in no one was insinuating any programming is better or worse than another, simply that the EP was not the cause of his lag. BTW, I have never seen your car run, but would be nice if you made the next shootout would love to get a full rundown on KA.

Lou

Oh, which stage do I think will beat KA? I dunno, I do know Shanks car is one fast mother!!

cjv, powerwise, the boys at S-Car-Go have not proven that they can beat the Knightons at their own game.

Let's get something straight. It's not appropriate for you to compare yourself to some mainstream bolt on package like that offered by the GIAC tuners. Everyone already expects you to handily beat a Stage 4GT or Stage 5. After all, the blue car with its 'ghetto fabulous' Garrett package already beat them. What those guys offer is bragging rights (with high peak HP claims) and a simple to understand bolt on package that is much more affordable than what you have done. So why go there? It's like comparing a Lear 55 to a Gulfstream G500 or a Radical to a Ferrari F2004 F1 car.

You and I know both know that your real competition is Protomotive. What are they cooking up on that ranch of theirs? Can KA beat Alex Diablo in the next Shootout? Angel vs. Devil, I LOVE IT!!!

And if SP decides to go after massive power, they will be a force to be reckoned with as well. They have learned a lot about harnessing turbo technology from here and Japan.

Unfortunately, with the 996 slowly bowing out, most of these guys will just move on to the 997 just because it's new. So you will only be competing with a handful of people, probably only 1 or 2 individuals from this board. So it may become a moot point except for all but the hardest core enthusiasts, people like you and I.

Back on topic, I love the welds and quality of Europipe. I have no doubt it produces power, but the damn thing is just so heavy!!!

I wish they made a titanium alloy version, I would buy it.

Tyson,

I am well aware of Alex's car. They decided not to do the internls. The car is in political limbo at this point. There is a beautiful $75,000 sound system that I can't compete with. The system is built in and weights over 400 pounds. The car would need at least $100,000. invested in the suspension and tranny to play with KS on any track. Is it fast in a straight line, definitely. Alex and I are friends. We respect each others car's. I would imagine, once he finishes his beast, we could beat each other in acceleration runs on any given day. Frankly, with what I am currently doing to KA's tranny, axles, cv's and driveline, KA is moving away from jackrabbit off the line starts. Doesn't mean she won't be fast there, it's just she won't be the fastest. Never claimed to be.

Lou,

You explained yourself very well. I was just having some fun. I can take the other side of any discussion just for the fun of it. I am a prankster by nature. No disrespect intended.

No problem, Sometimes I read what I write and am like, "How the hell is anyone going to understand that." Anyway, no worries.
