How much do nice wheels cost?

In my quest for a turbo, I found this one that I like:

http://chicago-motor-cars.ebizautos....o-1846801.html

But I am not too fond of the wheels. I was wondering how much some of the nicer sets out there would cost and if these wheels have any value.

Could I get into something nice for 3k or is it more like 5-7k?

They dont seem to have prices though so I cant really gage what it will cost. THis will make or break the decision on whether to try for this car or find something with wheels I like.

I saw an ebay listing with these though and the price is so high, is this what nice wheels really cost? I am just looking for a sanity check on what it would take to upgrade to nicer wheels.

$6500 19INCH SSR CHROME 3 PIECE WHEELS.

EDIT: After looking around, it seems these go for about 3-4k with wheels on them (used). I think tirerack has them new so that price seems to be inflated. $3k isnt too bad then.

You'll be at about 5k for a decent set new with tax.

You can also have those wheels repainted for ~$750 - if it's just the color you don't like...

Those look like the stock turbo wheels. You can have them refinished back to the stock color very cheaply.

these guys are right. Paint brilliant silver. Have the dealer do it as part of the sale.

These are some good thoughts, but I am not terribly fond of the stock wheels to be honest. They look OK in chrome, but I find most of the other wheels choices to be more to my liking. Tough to wait around until the perfect one shows up though.

Tommy is that what you did? Hard to tell from your sig, but might be the case.

Thanks for the help...I think this will be enough for me to make my decision. I will do some calling around, but basically I think I should be patient until I find one that comes with wheels I like.

I dont think a car buying decision should be based on the type of aftermarket wheels.. but that's just me.

You can get a set of used stock hollows for less than $1000 if you're so inclined.

you can get OEM porsche wheels in different designs for $1500-3000 that include tires.

FYI - I have a brand new set of sport technos with bridgestone tires (used for ~750miles) just collecting dust. have meant to put up for sale but just been lazy
