3M Film or Speedlingerie ?
3M Film or Speedlingerie ?
Hi all,
I'd like your opinions and recommendations on using 3M film vs. Speedlingerie bra for protection. I like the idea of a clear film, however I'm wondering if it ever comes up at the edges? The installer I've contacted guarantees his clear film work, but I'm skeptical.
Thanx,
Paul

Film will afford basic protection against most road chips, however a SpeedLingerie Bra is padded and will protect against larger rocks as well. In addition, the SpeedLingerie has a mesh over the radiator openings affording protection where the film has none.
If a stone hits a film protected panel, the paint will not chip, however, depending on the rock size, the paint will be dented. This, is a form of damage.
In the end, it boils down to preference and use. I chose the SpeedLingerie since my car is not a daily driver and I can add it or subtract it based upon the expected driving conditions.

Film yellows as it ages, so depending on your color of car this may be unpleasant to your eyes. Albeit film looks invisible from a far but for my discriminating eyes up close, it is not acceptible if you are a detail freak like me. I have speed lingerie and it's awesome and is colored to match your car. It's system of attachment is unparalled and can not be compared to any other bra out there (it does not flap or abraise the finish). It is also very difficult to find a great installer for film. The protection of your radiator grills is a nice bonus with speed lingerie in addition to keeping the bugs out to. The bra is easy to attach and remove, 5 minutes for me so if you show your car you can wear it to the show and quickly strip down once you are there...Film is an unacceptible look for showing cars in concours events, imo

Personally, I don't bother putting that kinda stuff on becuase I feel that stone chips are "part of the ownership of a car". Sure it sucks, but it beats having plastic stuck on your car. It's like those people that put plastic covers over their sofa's. It seems like you can't really enjoy the sofa because of the plastic. In some ways, it's like having sex with a condom with your wife.

i have amourfend clear film on my car. overall im happy, the edges have never come up. however i do notice the edges hold alittle more dirt so are slightly more noticable now that the film is 3 years old. also i have it behind my rear wheels on fender and one side has a missing peice. the good news is their is no scratch on the paint there, so it did its job.

I was considering the 3M film... but decided not to...
I'll just repaint my front bumper every once in a while...
and I'll just put a bra if I'm going to track my car...or go on a long distance trip....
