hahahahaha...bro, i have been addicted to cars since i could walk! My grandfather owned a Buick/Olds/GMC dealer so when my grandparents would 'babysit' me as a child i would go to the dealership and climb around all the cars, play with the stuff in the shop, go on test rides with salesmen, etc hahaha Been hooked ever since.

As for modding/buying cars....since 2004 i have had 5 cars - all brand new - all modded

I think my obsession is getting worse i as get older tho! LOL

Option 1: S2000 + FX35
Option 2: 996TT

Which would you guys pick?

Nothing fits in the front boot other than a helmet and a few containers of oil. Much can be stacked in the back, but that’ll block your view from the rear view mirror. Ski’s are impossible unless stored on the top of the car. In the five years I had 996TT’s, I cannot think of once I needed to borrow something bigger.

If you think a 996TT is bad, you need to troll around in a GT3. The 996TT is a rolling sofa compared to the GT3.

Addendum: I'm in San Diego and the weather is not an issue. I don't know what 'snow' is. It's white correct?
I ski nearly every day midweek in season and I take 2pr skis up in my TT, ski racks are for posers!!

Trust me matey, i know all about it - my dad's first car was a Ferrari Dino, followed by 6 different E-Type Jag's (last 2 were V12'S) and countless other sports cars along the way. I definetly got it from him.

My obesession, like most on here is awful. I'm saving for another condo, i'm not sure if i can justify another car however hard i try

Get a 996 TT Cab...that's my dream car right now - power, style and a droptop!

Otherwise a Z06 would be my realistic choice.

I have the Turbo, Range Rover, and a 325i, so it's not my only car, but if I was in your situation, I could manage with just the Turbo...Room for you and a couple honeys

Turbo is also my daily driver. I plan to drive winters with snow tires. Has anyone here used aftermarket replicas (18 8/10 inch) with snow tires. See these on ebay for about $600 plus $90 to ship.

Considering i leave close by, I can tell you that your main issue will be the weather. I drove my 01 everyday for almost two years, but I always drove my wife's car when it snowed. snow tires are a must, but ground clearance is a problem. MOre importantly, do you want to have to worry about some crappy driver who doesn't know how to drive on snow or slush sliding into your car? I also hated seeing that salt/sand/cinders they put on the road all over the car all winter. but if you don't mind that, the car can be driven daily almost the entire year without a problem.

We can always trade, although my car will be even more jarring then the GT3

I live in Boston so it snows. I traded my E320 4matic and a 964 Cabriolet to this one car. Best thing I ever did. I drive it 24/7 everyday. I never enjoyed my 964 cab because I babied it too much. Porsches are meant to be driven. DRIVE it... Rent something for $40/day if you need a car to go somewhere on the weekend. You don't even need to clean those rentals.

the only other thing I would say about the pcar is are the possible repair damage cost and time out if anything major needs to be done...otherwise...as long as you can get to SOME other ride...why not?

I drive my 2003 X50 every day - it currently has 148,000+ miles on it - it's bone stock minus the GT-3 Cup front brake ducting - it has served well as a winter car in New England for me for 4 years now - I run Dunlop Winter Sports on stock Hollow Spoke rims with no problems - it does REMARKABLY well in the snow - if for some reason I cannot take it in the snow my wife has a Cayenne Turbo we can use with snows on it in the winter. They make great daily drivers, racers and winter vehicles. I will drive this one into the ground and then get it fixed - it gives a big fat smile at least twice a day - enjoy the heck out of it. Good Luck!! T2
