champion wheels, opinions please

looking to get rg5 wheels from champion in an 18" application. did some searching, seems like a good, lightweight rim.

any downsides to them.? can i get some feedback from rg5 owners?

how do you guys like them?

thanks.

Rg5

I'm running 19" 8.5 & 11's and have been very happy. You feel more of the road, but thats ok with me. I have yet to pull the trigger on a set of 20"s (bling-bling) for beach days, car shows, etc....but I love the way the big rim fills the wheel well.

Arn't RG5 Challenge wheels and RG6 Champion??

oOPPS...removed photo RG5, as thread was for Champion...wrong pix...sorry bout that

I had a set of RG5s in 18" - had an off-road expedition in them. All 4 came through with scratches and gouges, but the tires stayed seated and the wheels did not bend.

I now have a set of 19" RG19s and love them.

Champions are light and strong. Another great cheaper alternative is CCW wheels. They now make 1 pc forged 18" rims (trackworthy) that are about 50% cheaper than Champions.

Rays also makes the Volk TE37's in an 18"996/996 fitment. Light, strong, and cheap too

I also have the RG5, 19" Champions.

I was forced to use them for (2) track days at Road America on my street
tires and I hit the tire punishers a couple of times so hard that I thought
I may have turned them into "eggs". I had new Michelin tires mounted up
on them on Sunday and the tire guy said they are the "truest" (perfect run-out) wheels he has ever seen! Light, good looking, perfect fit.
I am 100% satisfied.

I have 19" RG5 Modulars and they're great...I had BBS LMs on my M3 and these are just as good, if not better. The BBS may have been a bit more durable. Both great wheels. Oh yeah, I have a C4s, not a 996TT or GT2, but you get the idea.

i have a one off set of Champions and have been extremely happy with these wheels over the last yr. it's not often that the best looking wheels are ALSO the lightest AND most durbale/strongest because of their one piece design.

additionally, the folks over at Champion are just a phone call away to help out. i was having issues to get them to fit correctly (needed a small apacer) and they put me through to their chief engineer to talk to me and help me out. they fedex'd out a couple of different sets of spacers and gave me his cell phone to call him over the weekend to let him know if all was well

can't beat an exceptional product with outstanding customer service...'nuff said
