2007 9ff GT9
Concur.
I looked at this THING again and it simply grosses me out.
Porsche is the only company that actually runs the same body tub in the Lemans as in out street cars... that is a real sports car... when you can take a tub and run it at the highest competative level and then turn out the same body for the consumer. I was told this by a very respected engineer/owner of Orbit racing... Roger. Remember when BMW stuck a V8 and ran thru the competition. Well they made 20 such race cars( with V8s) and sold them to BMW executives.... making it a production car... well the sanctioning body caught on to the loophole and gave BMW a hard time.
I also read in a Mag. that the BMW race car was really never a M3 street car... nor anything that resembled it... BMW had a motorsport division... the body was all custom and made from scratch... for each race car. they put in a V8 and let it loose.
My point is that Porsche is a very unique company.... they thrive on racing and in doing so they bring it to the consumer as well. It makes me feel good that my P car body/tub is the same that went into a Orbit racing GT3RSR that took 2nd in the 2004 Lemans in France.
Why can't 9FF do the same? This thing looks like a full blown carbon fiber custom body that resembles more of a CGT then a 997.
Just my opinion... no harm intended.

Marek- 9ff isn't a manufacturer, they are tuners. Why should they copy the factory? We have factory already. They are a group of guys that can't leave well enough alone...kind of like you.
This is like someone looking at what you've done to your car and saying that the 996TT was perfect from the factory, so why did you go and create the monster that you now have? I am not trying to pick on you as I not only respect what you have done but I really think it's great...you happen to be a perfect example for this analogy.
So 9ff does some outrageous stuff. It's not the direction I would go either, but it's good to see a company take chances, do something completely different, think out of the box, push the envelope...and so on. Color choices, wheels, interior, the KITT steering wheel design- those are all cosmetic silliness. What innovative stuff have they done to make the car fast? Chopped it to lower the C/D, who knows what to the engine, tranny, suspension. Lots of interesting things, new ideas. I'm surprised you don't dig it.
BTW, your facts are off. Ferrari F430 has a stock tub at LeMans. BMW too. Panoz too. The GT2 class requires it.

as far as the LeMans... An engineer/owner who raced in the Lemans told me that ( this was 4 years ago) Porsche was the only company using a stock tub. I think he would know. www.orbitracing.com
Things may have changed since then...
BTW, this is just my opinion... I don't expect others to agree. I understand.

I just looked at the video... looks like the car is geared for top end... high revs... and no PSM.... probably Motec with non vario cams and some sort of a GT3 race set up.
At $750K I rather take my car over it anytime... maybe redo my tranny and some body work and give that THING a run for its money....
I wonder why 9FF didn't keep the 997 body...
What happened a while back when they went out with some other contraption stating it will run 250 mph yet when it was tested it never ran it... any news on that?

ps. It is a very fast car... no doubt.. but at 3/4ths of a million dollars I rather twin turbo a Porsche GT...
