I spent the weekend running the car hard on the canyons after re-installing the Airboxx and getting the fitment refined. One thing I noticed right-off is how much more more I can hear the diverter valves working...and the turbo's seem more prominent too. No MAF issues at this point. Heres what she looks like now.....

sdorn is infamous around these parts
So how many people have this intake installed now? What are your thoughts? I am thinking of ordering it. What kind of power increase do you think I could expect if I already have a Stage 1 FVD reflash?

Finished installing mine, what a pain ion the *** the install is, its really tight back there but it idles Ok, no CEL light as of 2 hours of spirited driving....The torx screws on the MAF are a pain in the *** to put back in place. Car drives nice, definately louder than before especially once turbos kick in, feel a slight difference in power but I ll have to dyno to know

Ok I am ordering one. Guess the oiled filter will not be an MAF killer?
Also, rumor of a 997 duel opening box in the works?
Should I order or wait for the new one or is there an upgrade fee?

thanks Dan for Vivid making great products!!

No MAF problem or CEL here after 1 month.

The left box is a bit tough to install.

I made the dual opening myselve, also adjusted second cold air intake ,air intake temperature is a little bit colder now (I can measure it with the Brockway R920) around 3 degrees celcius cooler. There is also no difference in temperature between oem airbox and the alu boxes. What I would recommend to everyone who has the vivid intake is to look that the rubber from the cold air intake fits to the metal right box,I had to raise the box almost 1 inch before the rubber made contact (and I have the updated box).Just put some oil on the rubber, close your trunk and you can see where the rubber makes contact with your metal box.But to be honest I can't feel any gain with the vivid air intake maybe on the dyno it shows??

let me know Tom, I will get one out. I have not had time to do a V2. But will see what we can get going. Because you are my race mule I will make sure you just get to test stuff either way!

Dixie is exactly right about intake temps. Your setup looks great. I need to send you a longer piece of silicone. PM me your name so I can send it out. Very cool of you to post that

Choy - good to hear. I need to make another trip to Japan sometime! I will be working on that left box. It is a tight fit.

I am still running the $550 special for anyone that wants one!
