Question need help on what to purchase first... order of importance...

Need some guidance on which mods to buy first. Right now im stock. Im thinking:

1) DV's
2) short shifter
3) Coilovers
4) wheels
5) Horsepower.

thanks in advance.

Porsche Babe is infamous around these parts
DV's, Short Shifter, Airfilter first
Horsepower - Exhaust - ECU - 16/24 turbos (depending on the horse power you want - and it can be done in stages)
Install the coilovers with the wheels so you can have the car set-up
Depends on how much money you want to spend at one time.
just my .02

I would do it in this order:
1) Short shift
2) Wheels
3) Coil overs (You have to get a wheel alignment good to get it with your new wheels on)
4) HP (depending on which route you go, DV's, Exhaust, ECU remapping and larger turbos come with most packages).

  1. Since the DV's and short shifter are relatively cheap in comparison to all else, it would probably make sense to get those out of the way first. Between the two of them you will probably be in for less than $1K with installation.
  2. Coilovers would be my next investment since it will markedly improve the handling of the car and stiffen things up. I would not put power before handling under any circumstances. I would also wait on wheels since, in most cases, they will not add much to the handling of the car.
  3. I would now add horsepower since your chassis can now appropriately deal with the added stress of acceleration and the higher potential speeds.
  4. Wheels would be last since they (arguably) represent the least performance improvement. The stock wheels and tires are not much narrower than whatever tire upgrade you go with.

So, those are my $0.07.

Good luck with your modding process. Any way you slice it, it is a fun process.

I agree.

As for the DV's, I'd wait for the valves to start making some noise, and have the dealer replace them with Bailey's under warranty.

I completely agree. I am brand new to Porsche and after 5 months there is much more I need to learn about the car. IMHO I think the short shifter (SSK) is a great initial mod. I ended up doing a lot of cosmetics without any performance upgrades sans the ssk. This allowed me to drive the car, i've put over 5k mi on it and I really think for my skills, the stock power is more than sufficient. I did do the pss-9 and 19s and must say that for bling bling effect, EVERYONE looks at the car now. So, if you are an expert driver then another path may be preferable

Additionally, the Europipe Stage II LOUD is not to be underestimated

I agree with Ken. Do the small stuff first, but then do the coilovers. They will not only DRASTICALLY improve the Wall-Street Softness of the car, but it lowers the car and makes it look more agressive.
