Mixed emotions...it's a decent time, the car felt very quick and strong and I am happy to have come so close, but I really wanted a 10. Here's the slip - I think with a better launch, I would be there, but it was very difficult to keep the tires from lighting up...even with a soft launch. Still, great fun.

Very nice, John! Congrats! Your car is running very strong.
At your power level, I ran my 10.65 @ 136 with a 1.806 60'. Not too far from you, so you could definitely get another 1/10th or better out of her with a *slightly* better launch. That would be 10's.
Also, you made up just as much MPH in the back-half as I did (29 mph). The only reason I trapped higher than you is because I was doing 5-6 mph faster by the 1/8th. Possibly due to me being RWD compared to you being AWD....or due to my intake, allowing me to spool sooner. Regardless, on the top end...your car seems to pull just as hard as mine did when I was at 580 rwhp.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement...
Dr_jitsu: I used Sunoco unleaded 104, 1.27 bar peak boost, BF Goodrich R1 on the rears (road course r-compound tire). I will say the tires proved to be a hinderence after a few runs. They picked up all kinds of pebbles and by my 4th pass the car just spun with an easy launch and then when I shifted to 2nd it went sideways enough that I shut down. After that run I inspected the tires and they looked like they had marbles attached to them.
Buddy: AWD, but I was told yesterday my viscious coupling up front is junk, so I don't know if it's able to pull with the fronts at all. I will be replacing it, though and staying AWD. Estimated HP at 1.27 boost is just under 700, I think - but not certain. Scott seems to have method to ballpark the HP based on the times, maybe he can advise.
Divexxtreme: Scott, great info, that's a very interesting comparison of the times.
Thanks Kevin - I think and hope so, too...

Congtrats John...
to run a little better you need a little more boost... use a little better octane fuel to keep ur heads cool and use, at a minimum, drag radials( BFs) with 20 to 25 PSI( depends).
Run 1.5 bars watch ur afrs ( do some runs prior to that on the street to get the ECU used to it) and short shift the car at 6K RPMs. Dont ask me how I know but trust me when I tell u that it will produce ur numbers. When u run 1.3 bars take it to redline but when u run more boost shortshift it. That is the trick with these k24/18gs....

Assuming the weight of your car with you in it is 3,700 lbs, you would need 570 awhp to trap 131.75 mph.
Assuming 18.5% drivetrain loss...that puts your crank HP at 699.35.

My calculator also tells me that your car is good for a 10.83 with a 1.75 60' at 3,700 lbs and your current power level (same boost). You just need better tires, bro. I recommend 295/35/18 BFG DR's. Run 20-22 psi max (anymore than that and they create a balloon effect. I run 20 psi in mine 100% of the time).
