TwinT is infamous around these parts
can anyone advise on this fault

just drove the 03TT and got the message 'Warning battery generator'

does this mean alternator?

I have just had battery replaced a few weeks ago

any help is much appreciated!

Not bad. Just make sure you look at the routing of the belt before you pull it. You will never get it back on if you don't.
