Before anyone says it, I know this is a 996 forum!
I posted here because I know several of you guys, so please don't brush me off to the 997 forum, its lonely over there!
Anyways, I wanted to share some pictures I took of my friends car last night. Some of you locals (Los Angeles) may already know who it is.

I have a 1Ds Mark II with the same 45 AF focus points but I haven't had focus issues. I use One Shot mode and if I have a lot of subjects in the frame, I will select a single point, AF lock and reframe the shot. The 1D Mark III is supposed to have a more advanced focusing system so that's pretty surprising. Are you using a f/2.8 lens or faster? Slower than f/2.8 uses only 19 AF points. f/2.8 and faster gives you 26 more AF assist points.
