996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

Still hunting for that 996TT. A quick Q or 2.

Dave, can tell you this from owning both a "01" 996TT and a "07" Cayman S, there is in my opinion a big difference in the two. Granted the TT stickers for roughly double a Cayman S, and the Cayman's handling is supurb, but that's where it ends. Think you would bond very quickly. Your deal sounds pretty good. You have delt with him before and he knows you 've been around the block, plus he will keep the car if it's abused. That's pretty close to lock.

Dave,
I'm still in the 'research' phase of buying a 996TT, and after looking at the pictures, the front end (air inlets) appear to have been modified. Perhaps I am mistaken, but the 996TT's I have looked at from '01 -->'07 all have horizontal slats, where as this one does not.

I would inquire as to who did the mod's, why, etc. Anyone owning one care to comment (I'm a newbie, but a definite Porsche fanatic thanks to Deepblue!!!).

It has an aerokit. Just cosmetic mods. The HRE wheels, also.

I think it looks great.

Plus, the options don't seem like the types a hardcore track guy would buy.

Either way, good luck.

I have referred a dozen people I work with to him and they all have had great results with MB and BMW. Let me see what he has on the auction list for the 13th. I will have the list in a couple of days when it comes out. I want first choice. Sorry. Selfish bastard. I should have 15 posts soon and will be able to reply to a PM with his contact info and my e-mail so we can compare notes on the cars we have seen around Cali. You know...the ones that haven't been in tornadoes, hailstorms, swamps, salted highways of death, etc.

Shoot me a message.

I agree. It's just that the dealers post a price of $89,950 on a car I can get for less than $65k. They get the cars from the same place I do. Then they inspect and bundle in a warranty. Nothing magic about CPO. The CPO warranty does not cover the same stuff as the factory warranty, by the way. At least that is my experience with MB and BMW.

If a dealer is asking $89,950 for a CPO car, what should I be able to get the car for? I keep hearing about killer deals on CPO cars from dealerships. A search for them on the Porsche site withing 500 miles of Northern California reveals a lot of cars for $90k and up.
