Aftermarket Warranty
Hi guys,
Anyone have experience with Warranty4Wheels? I've got a very good quote for 2001 996tt, but i'm not sure if they're legit or not.
$2600 for 5yr/100k miles
-thx

Look at all the fine print and ask them for a list and to clarify the items they have under power train. Sometimes they exclude things like turbos, valve stuff. You have to be very careful especially if they are cheaper or look like a deal. BTDT.
This is definitely true. I had to pay extra because my car is a turbo, it was like a 10% surcharge. There was also a surcharge for AWD. They offered all kinds of different coverages that excluded this or that. I went with the "bumper to bumper" coverage that covers everything but regular wear and tear items like brakes, clutch, etc. READ THE FINE PRINT.
I am looking for an extended warranty now. 04 996TT Cab. 2600 for 5 and 100 seems like a great deal. Keep us informed.

I've found out that 5yr/75k for $2650 quote I got is not full coverage. They only pay up to $125/hr for labor, and some other stuff are not covered.
I've asked for something close to bumper&bumper coverage, and they gave me a new quote for $2725 4yr/60k with $100 deductibles.
I have to use an address outside of CA, since they can't sell to CA residents due to regulations. Plus they have to approve the work before it can be done, and they'll pay it with their credit card.

I am no expert, but it's my limited understanding that it is better to get an "exclusionary" type of policy that covers everything EXCEPT for what is listed, rather than an "inclusionary" type plicy that covers ONLY what is listed. The above link describes different levels of "inclusionary" type coverage.
Do not rely on the answer to any verbal questions to the company- if it is unclear in the policy, assume it is not covered. They can flat out lie to you on the phone, then when claim time comes "that sales rep no longer works here" or "he was mistaken, the policy you signed clearly states that the agreemnet is only that contained in the document".
To characterize an extended warranty by coverage term and mileage alone is missing 80% of what will ultimately matter. IMHO

PS Warranties for wheels has an exclusionary policy- ask them.
Is there a recent consensus regarding aftermarket warranties? In other member's experiences, which aftermarket warranty company exclusionary or inclusionary has been the best coverage and premium wise?
What issues, if any, have you had to use your warranty for. Anything serious, say over $1000? How much was the warranty?
