i was under the same impression, get in and drive, take it easy for the first 2-3 minutes, then let her rip.

I am sure sure Porsche states not to idle because it means the catalytic converter will not start to operate, and also the gearbox, and drive line oils will not warm up. I would, however idle for 1-2 minutes, then drive under 3000-3500rpm, as well as under little load, until the engine is well into operating temperature. Then drive it hard, like its meant to be!! . Then idle for a bit before shut down.

If you're the type to turn the key and punch it, remember: your Turbo is wishing it could rouse you out of bed at 3am, whip you through a few wind sprints and tear both your hamstrings.
Wot he said , I let it go but keep to 3k rpm until she's warm and always take it easy for the last minute or two of the journey.
