Advice on buying 18" wheels

Had to sit out most of this past weekend's track day at Sebring because of a wheel problem. My HRE's are out of true.

I need to get a new set of wheels for the track and I want to go to 18". I have 350mm GT3 rotors up front.

Any suggestions?

complete custom wheels makes raceworthy wheels and is reasonably
priced. They can get any custom backspacing to within a millimeter
or so. www.ccwheel.com. Their classic track wheel is from $2200 per set!
I race with them in 18", 9.5" front, and 11 rear for the tires I run now. I
use to have a 12" rear, but I had them send me a new inner half to narrow
it to 11".

^ yeah those classics are money! especially for tracking. take into consideration how much u will be using them on the street when choosing ur option... i'd say buy these in the "tracking version" and ONLY use them doing that. then get urself a nice setup for the street

I wish. Do the stock turbo wheels fit the GT3 brake rotors?

Those are very nice wheels. I sent them an email asking about weight.

Hi Dirty Mac

I ve used stock hollow spoke wheels and they were fine.

Also, I'm very interested in feedback about your GT3 rotors as I'm thinking of purchasing a used set.

How do they compare to stock ...all feedback is welcome.

Never used stock so I can't really comment on the difference. On the track they feel very good. I can't say I feel any significant fade even after an hour on the track. I wouldn't want to be using anything less. The one problem I have -- which would be worse on smaller discs -- is that the rotors don't last very long. I get about 6 track days out of a set. I guess that's the price you pay for threshold braking a 3,700 lbs car all day long. I am using the stock GT3 pads. I am going to be trying slotted rotors with Pagid yellow 29's next.

Thanks for the feedback.Yeah our cars are heavy.I don't plan on doing that much track days though.

I might hold off on them a little longer and see what else is out there that fits under 18 in wheels.

Good luck with your
