I ordered the 3.0 Loud system and ceramic coated headers from Speedtech.

John and Chad could not have been more helpful.

I'll report more when I get them. I suspect it will be a few weeks because of the ceramic coating and shipping distance. No biggie.

Thanks for your input, as well. As for the sound, for most people, it surprises them how great their TT can sound - we have engineered some very special attrributes into both the 2.5 and 3.0 systems that combine for a fantastic tuned sound at all times.

And you're right, with our 100 cell cats, the throttle response is much improved vs. a 200 cell cat system and especially vs. an OEM system. You can feel the direct response just blipping the throttle at idle.

Glad to hear once again that you are still very pleased! That's the test with an aftermarket exhaust, if you are still happy after 2 weeks, you made a great choice...

 

A couple of customers have not wanted the free pulley kit, so we have offered them free ceramic coating or $200 off the price of the system for this special. I am going to hold it open for another day or so, for anyone that may want to take advantage of these other special sale options...

 

That ceramic coating looks like a great option. I probably should have gone for that. O'well!

 

The Speedtech is a great system. I have had Fabspeed, Europipe Loud, Gemballa systems on my last two 996TT. The 3.0 Speedtech X-cellerator sounds the best by far. It is the easiest to install and makes the most power. The turbos spool up very quick as well.

The exhaust note is about the same as a Europipe loud.

If you are worried about interior noise with the 3.0 system, just get some sound deadening material like Second Skin Damplifier Lite 30SQFT and Second Skin Heat Wave 9SQFT and cover the area behind the back seat. It will reduce the sound to something just slightly louder than a stock exhaust.
