I just purchased a wing from MASHAW for my 99 Cab. Micheal has been very easy to work with and even gave me a small discount when I told him Kevin sent me. I'm expecting to get my new wing on Friday so I obviously can't comment on quality until early next week.

My Gemballa CF hood took some work with the front fender wings to fit well but I like the 993 look and it is very light (5 kg). I have been considering a rear deck lid with a GT2 wing by mashaw. I would sure like to see one in person before I do it. Will

MAShaw

Build quality wise, I wasn't happy with the one MAShaw product I had for my previous vehicle - 2002 BMW M3. I picked up one of his carbon lip spoilers and not only was the weave not clean, but there was pitting in the gelcoat. He's had a long history with Porsche's and it seems that his injection molded fiberglass parts are decent, but I can't recommend the CF parts from my personal experience...for what it's worth, a buddy of mine also picked up a CF trunk and the weave was so bad that he ended up painting it.

I had a good experience with Mike Shaw. Went to his home to pick up a wing...he is a super nice and friendly guy.

As for the product, the vents on the cab wing seemed to be cut pretty rough and there was some minor pitting. (All knock-offs are of this quality or worse)

I just took it to a good paint/body shop and the rough vent openings and pitting were completely sanded smooth. It's nothing that any decent paint & body shop couldn't do for a couple extra bucks. My 996 is black, and I totally can't tell by looking at it that my wing is not OEM. No imperfections at all.

Not to mention that it saved me over $2,000 vs OEM.

Steve

Fit is good, but it does require some extra body shop work.. But the important thing is the fit!

getty design is the direct manufacturer for Mashaw, which they will never disclose. like any other composite glass part that is made they are never exact. from my experience with getty/mashaw, their mold work is one of the better guys in the business. unlike some of NR subcontracted work. price well justify's the quality of their work especially since the negotiate if you pay "green". so yeah the quality is pretty good, but it's all relevant to which part you are buying. i think on a hood whether it's cargraphic/gemballa or performance parts or getty/mashaw they all need prep work and should be painted. my suggestion is to screw the saving of weight up front since the rear is wear you need to save weight, and go for the aero hood (VCE).

I once bought the Performance product CF hood but then returned it because Tyson (hamann7) warned me about fitment problems. When i looked at it in person, i could see right through the weave.

It's hard to believe that some companies make such nice cf hoods for Japanese imports but can't make an equally decent CF hood for the Porsche.

Anyways bro, hit me up and lets make a trip to Getty design or MA shaw and let the mods begin. I will probably leave my hood unpainted also.

Joe if your going for the look.. I would do the 993 Style aero Hood.
The CF isn't really apealing, i've seen two in person, and with your darker color blue it will look like you couldn't afford to paint the hood

Pics of my buddy J's Hood.
