MOST Confusion

I can't seem to locate these answers anywhere. Any clarification would be MOST <pun intended> helpful. I have a 2004 Cab.
  1. MOST System: I get it at high level but what is it exactly?
  2. What wires are fiber? Head unit to Amp? Amp to speakers? Both?
  3. If I replace the stock HU (and Amp) then what wires exactly am I going to need to replace?
  4. Audio info in instrument console ... is that fed from the HU via MOST? If I replace the HU will I lose this (no big deal really)?
I'm gearing up for a sound overhaul and would like to understand this before I get started.

Thanks all.
Rob

Check out this link MOST

AFAIK...there is a component "ring" HU/amp/cdremote/iPod...whatever you have connected to the ring. These are all connected fiber optically. Wires to the speakers are speaker wire. If you replace the HU or amp with a non-fiber optic component you will lose communication. So you will need to replace the amp and HU.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the link. Since I was planning to replace the AMP anyway running wiring for that isn't a big deal. It was the speakers I was more concerned/questioning about.

Thanks again!!!
