It's Hertz rent-a-car parking lot. Damn they (BMW)are going nowhere with this look.
I will give up my X5 if this continues

I saw the new 5 series at the Monterey Historics. Its not that bad looking, a little bland. The interior doesn't suit me but otherwise.....

Makes me puke when I see it in photos, but every time I see it in real life it actually looks good, sporty, menacing, totally different

From what I have seen of the new designs, they look better in person... especialy the 7 series in white with the big wheels(IMO).

Why do you think it will sell?
The 7 Series was a TOTAL failure. There were a couple of dealerships in Texas that literally had over 60 brand new 7's at each dealer.
Just because it is a BMW, doesn't mean it will sell.
Bangle is a total moron. I can't believe they haven't fired him yet.

The best design chief out there is Jay Mayes at Ford. I would think BMW would pay him big bucks. If I was BMW, I'd fire Bangle yesterday, and go after Mayes or anyone... even me!

The 7-series facelift wasn't supposed to be till two years but BMW decided to do it now due to its controversial styling and pressure from the dealers so it will come out shortly. But BMW learnt their lesson I think because the 7-series is butt ugly in photos AND worse in person, the 5-series actually looks good in person especially when the M5 comes out wil add a lot to the 5-series looks, so Bangle obviuosly didn't have his way completely in the design otherwise it would have been hideous. But I agree with Scott, after all the overwhealming negative feedback on Bangle's designs from the magazines and the lay people, why is still Bangle in BMW? What are they playing at, I never heard a designer been so critizided and in todays competitive market, BMW shouldn't be playing around. I hope he doesn't ruin the next 3-series (2005).

An unfortunate fact is that the 5 Series was the best selling BMW.
The company relies heavily on theis car to sell well. I have a feeling this is going to hurt them ...bad!

Hells yea I am not feeling the new styling either, but Ill have to see it in person to decide. Although, the new M5 numbers look tempting
