Finally pics of my 996 crash !
I only owned the Carrera for about two months before I totalled her and my previous car was a e46 M3 and I was not familiar with the handling differences yet and this was the result.

After looking at the wreck, I'm glad you are OK!
Rear engine car is more differcult to handle. Especially on wet & icy surfaces. If you are going to replace it with another 911 make sure to take a driving course with local PCA for beginners. It's cheap to join and you'll learn quick.

+1 with daytrader on the driving courses. we bought our first pcars in may and we've both taken the drivers skills, drivers education, and several autoX days. all of which helped learn the handling of our cars. plus, it's actually fun! you meet other pcar owners and develope new friendships.
we both had personal experience with m5's as well as other performance cars before we bought the pcars, but as daytrader mentioned above, the pcar is a whole different driving experience.
glad you're okay! don't worry...your confidence will return.

Thanks for the comments and I agree that I can surely use some more time behind the wheel with a skilled instructor ! I think that will make a great spring time activity for me.
