Need a New Battery

My battery just died. Apparently, the Porsche cigarette charger is $60 down the toilet. What brand/style of battery are you guys using?

(Sorry, I guess we can no longer delete posts?)

TIA

I think mine is on the way out too. I was going to pop by Porsche tomorrow and pick up whatever comes as stock.

What ever you do don't buy a Porsche battery... The Interstate battery is a perfect fit and 850 CCA...if you want to lose weight you could go Optima.

here is the Interstate I bought

Interstate

here are some other options

I wouldn't pony up $150 for a P battery, not worth it.

Ditto! All my cars past & present I use Duralast from Autozone. Never have problem and average life is around 4 years. Save $$ too.

Hmm...did you buy the charger, or just the maintainer. The charger has worked really well for me, but it cost over 100, I think around 110 or 120?

I used the maintainer. I always had it plugged in, too. The battery is only two years old, I found the water level to be low, also. I was shocked when I looked at the battery. Who the heck uses acid batteries anymore??????

Thank you, sir. That's what I'm going to get. I didn't even bother checking the price on the Porsche battery. (It obviously stinks, anyway.)

The Autozone Duralast 48-DL is the fit for the Carrera (49-DL is too long, covers mounting hole)

If you decide to pursue the Interstate route, you should be looking at MTP-91. I believe MTP-93 may be equivalent to Autozone Duralast 48-DL where it may be too long. I have the MTP-91 and it is a direct replacement.

That interstate link..you can fill in what year/model your car and it will tell you what you need. For my 04 ...the MTP-93 is the correct drop-in size.

Did you replace the mount too? If so, please post pics with needed parts.

Thanks

Autozone, Duralast 48-DL battery, 2 year replacement waranty, 7 year regular waranty, for $59.99 with trade-in of old battery.
