New Car Curse

i picked up my C4S yesterday. on the way home from dallas on I35 in thick traffic a big truck slung a rock right into my windshield. so, i own the car for less that two hours and the windshield is chipped. not a star, just a little divot. but still...

where's a rocket launcher when you need one?

Oh man... I can't imagine how pissed you were!
Sorry to hear that!!

Well, I suppose there is merit to the cliche, you know you own it when it gets its first ding.

Congrats on the car though, reminds of the time when I was in high school, my civic just came out of the bodyshop and I was driving on the freeway and BAM! I hit those rogue torn up tires on the freeway and messed up my new body kit.

I would take the windshield over the paint anyday. Enjoy your new ride!

Congrat! Your car just got a tattoo. At least, it was the winshield not the paint/dent. Good luck charm!

My buddy just bought an F355. Flew out, drove it home, and notices a crack in the windshield. Gets estimate - $3500 to replace. Calls seller to see if it was cracked beforehand, comments on high price of replacement - seller says "if $3500 scares you, maybe Ferrari is not for you".

BTW - it took like 5 weeks just to get the windshield replaced at the dealer.

Here in Los Angeles, California (605-gravel FWY) I once had my 2003 350Z front windshield chipped by a gravel truck. Got the number off the plates and called the gravel company. They replaced my windshield for my inconvience. Only drawback was I had to take it to their sponsored window shop. I know it's too late for this but it's nice to know..Good luck..
