Wheel spacer / tire size & lowering question

Wheel spacer / tire size & lowering question
I have a 2000 996 C2 that’s stock except it’s straight pipe so I feel it sits a little higher in the rear now with the 50lbs weight reduction
Looking to get the widest and most aggressive look (with out rubbing – too much)

I have stock 18” Turbo Twist rims with 285/30/R18 on the rear & 225/40/R18 in front the tires are currently bald so I will be replacing them with the same size any suggestions on different sizes that would look better

I have lowering spring which I will be installing before the car comes out of storage there H&R 1” drop all the way around

I still have not purchased spacer what size should I go with
There’s either 7mm or 14 mm right
I was thinking 14mm in the rear do I have to put spacers on the front or can I get away with just the rears will this look silly or should I at least put 7mm in the front
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I hate saying it man but it's probably better now then later, "Use the Search"

Are the fronts 7.5 or 8?
To fill out those fenders with stock wheels go with 15mm all the way round.

You could go with a 245 tire upfront depending on the width of the wheel which is what I had previous to the new setup, however you might exp some rubbing.

Again just search the topic, it's been answered several times with pics and should help you towards your final decision.

on my 99 with stock wheels 15mm all the way around....the 7/14mm would look bad with my wheel sizes....I like equal amts front and rear if spacers are to be used

Spacers and such...

STO1874:

I went with the 14mm in the rear of my 1999 C2 CAB. They look great with the 18' Turbo Twist wheels. However I mounted the front (14mm) tonight to see if I would like the set up. I did not!

I think 14mm in the front are too wide for my vision of what the car should look like. So I am going to go with the 7mm in the front and 14mm in the rear and be content with that.

The rear for sure is in need of spacers and the front just a little should be fine. I do not plan to do any lowering of the car although I really want to but just I do not want to get too deep in spending for this my first Porsche. (I have this vision of upgrading to a 997 sometime)

Anyway I will post pix after the total change is complete.

Good luck,
99C2

I also read a lot about spacers, and I think the best fitment will be with 15mm all around...

Does someone know where to order good spacers for good price?

I just picked my car with H&R lowering springs and 15mm spacers all the way around. It drives sweet! I can't wait to get her on the track.

James Bond, I ordered my spacers through Performance products. You will need to order the longer wheel bolts. The page will tell you if you go on line. I like the look, my car looks mean and aggressive now.

YOOPSRACING:

I agree that they look great on your car. I have the same wheels too. But when I look at it on mine it just seems too wyde for my car.

I might regret ghoing with the 7mm in front but they are on the way now. I do know that the rear looks great with the 14mm.

I will post pix after

Save your money. Get after-market wheels and tyres with the correct offsets so that you can run as wide as possible on your NB. Don't install the lowering springs, get a M030 RoW, X74 or PSS9 suspension system.

When it is done right it will look right.

Spacing looks perfect. I did the same. I lowered my '04 with H&R coils. Looks good. I'd like to lower the front another inch though. Thinking of doin' a Foose on it, and cutting off an inch. Thinkin"....
