okay, that worked! duh.. I should have tried that..
but..
Is there supposed to be a gap all the way around the rear of the car? hardtop looks like its sealed well, but isnt actually touching the rear.. also, rear window is a tightttt squeeze going up, actually pushed the hardtop towards the rear of the car a little bit to get it to properly "roll" up.
is this normal?

The exposed edge of the hardtop does not contact the car, the seal is actually behind this, so what you are seeing is normal. Once locked in place with the tool and the clamp at the front the wihdows should close easily.

that's right billyc, the hardtop should sit about half an inch off the car in the rear. at first, i thought that mine was not installed properly, but this is the way it was designed. as Dharn55 stated, the seal is actually behind the rear edge of the top.

so how does the noise inside your car when you're driving in the highway compared with the convertible top? i just bought a hardtop from ebay and it seems it hasn't lessen the noise level. inspected the seals and they seems to be in good shape.

thanks.

I think it is def. quieter... My hardtop is Polar silver, and car is arctic silver... so it looks dumb right now... but it is surely quieter..

so where did you get your top and how much did it cost you if your don't mind. i got lucky because the color of my car is metallic black and i found the same although the interior is beige. but for 475.00 bucks, i'm not complaining besides the dealer is asking 12 grand excluding paint to match the car. i don't hear the creaking and groaning sound the dealer was describing about the hardtop on uneven surface yet. hope i get lucky on that too.

on the hughway, i think that the noise difference is negligable, but on regular roads, it feels like i'm really driving a hardtop. the engine noise is so slight that you might think it's in the front of the car! The "flexing" creaks that other people complain of are so minor and rare that I prefer driving with the hardtop compared to the creaks and knocks I hear from the soft top.
I got super lucky and only paid $200 for my top which happened to be off of the same year and color car as mine, i just had to pick it up. 12k excluding paint to match your car??? that's insane! definitely shop around for better prices. you might as well get the whole car repainted for that much!
