What Ben said.
I'm going by faith that EVO will eventually get it C.A.R.B. certified.

dyno run did not happen today, dynolabs had to reschedule for tomorrow.
There was a mishap in the dyno bay right before I got there.
A ford mustang caught fire (no mustang bashing please). Just glad they were able to put it out with the fire extinguishers and no one was hurt.

Here's a picture of the rear of the car with the S/C installed. I'm sure you all seen these shots before. Looking at this and other peoples pictures including the one from EVO www.evoms.com it was never obvious to me where the air intake was located.
The air intake is now recess in the engine compartment behind the intercooler on the right hand side of the picture.

With the air intake recessed in the engine compartment and away from the air vents on the rear deck lid the first thought that came to my mind was the hot air it must be breathing.
This probably is a non-issue with the intercooler but I do want to know if there is a power gain if I can get cold air to the intake.
I did schedule two dyno runs (3 pulls each). One dyno run with blower fans in front of the car pointing at the radiators and another dyno run with a additional fan pointing into the engine compartment at the air intake filter.
The dyno didn't happen today but hopefully I can get those runs in tomorrow.

If you're talking about a head-to-head run report with a stock 996 turbo, that wouldn't happen till this weekend.

If you're talking about a dynorun, I was able to book an appointment today with dynolabs at 3:00pm PST.

Actually is was neither of them, I was refering to your butt dyno , as you didn´t seemed much impressed by the first drive you gave with the supercharger. I know you didn´t have the time to test it properly, but even so I was expecting some more excitment from your words. Kirby has made a test drive with your car and haven´t said any word about the supercharger power too, living me thinking that both of you were not impressed by this mod. That´s why I was asking for a more detail test drive report

Thanks for the pics you posted. I´m very surprised to see the place where they put the air filter Is there any air from out side blowing there It seems that the only air the intake gets , it´s from the engine bay itself which is not the coolest air

It will be curious to know the final result between the 996 Supercharged vs 996 Turbo. I still think the 996 Turbo will be just a bit fast which is a great result for the 996 SC.

What is the difference in weight between the normal batery, and the one you have on your car? Thanks in advance.

J.Seven

I was impressed with the SC and infact after driving Ken's I am even leaning more towards doing it. The only reason I have not commented was that my test drive with his car was very short and I did not have a good feel for his clutch. So, I felt if I were to comment it might not be completly accurate.

But, since you would like me to comment I will... =)

I only drove the car down one decently long street. Stop light to Stop light. Because I wasn't used to Ken's Clutch I had a problem getting the car to take off. I drove it down the street and when the SC kicked in I was like WOW! Holy Crap! Both Ken and I had smiles on our faces (maybe not so much Ken as he was probably thinking can this joker drive?, haha). I also like the way the car sounds with the SC, kind of like a spaceship. That is really all I can comment on with my brief time with the car.

If there was something specific you wanted to know, let me know. I was pretty impressed, just wish I had more time with it.
